I needed an aircraft for a specific scene and didn’t have one. So I kitbashed one. Felt good, was fun. Been a while since I made a plane. This isn’t the final version but it’ll do for now.

There’s a bit of a Vought Cutlass vibe to this one, and in side profile it fits in well with the X-planes of the Fifties. Essentially, though, it’s a Super Sabre that’s undergone some …vivisection.

I love the designs of the fighter jets of the late-40’s and 1950’s. They tried so many radical things as they hammered away at figuring out jet propulsion and supersonic aerodynamics. Such exciting times.

Guess where I’m going when Amazon delivers my Time Machine?
